How can I qualify for ADAPT?
  • If you are a wheelchair user
  • Expected to become a wheelchair user within 6-12 months/li>
  • If you cannot manage steps or a bath

What happens if I don’t qualify for ADAPT?

Your application will be returned to the Housing Provider that you applied to originally and you will be assessed to check your eligible to be considered for their general housing waiting list. Further details on housing options available to you can be available by visiting www.swanseahousing.co.uk. This site offers information about housing in Swansea including council housing, Housing Associations, Private Renting and Affordable Housing.

How long must I wait for a suitable property?

It is impossible to say.  As so often is the case, there is great demand for homes to meet the needs of the growing list of people on the ADAPT register.  We will try to find you suitable accommodation as soon as possible.

How can I check up on the progress of my application?

You can contact us at ADAPT between 9am - 5pm (Mon - Thurs) and 9am - 4.30pm (Fri).

What happens if I live outside of Swansea?

You can still apply for adapted accommodation if you wish to be re-housed in Swansea.  Once you have applied to any of the Housing Providers and your referral has been received by ADAPT, we will write to you to inform you of the next step in order to proceed with your application.
